NAATI CCL Dialogue Insurance 03 –Compensation Processing

Scenario: This dialogue is a phone conversation between a workers’ compensation claim manager and a client. The client is asking about the duration of his compensation and how much he can expect to receive.

Evelyn Jones (Workers’ compensation claim manager): Hello. I am glad you call me back. How can I help you today?

Mr. Anuman: Hi, Evelyn. I just wanted to ask—how long will I be paid, and how much will I receive while I’m on WorkCover compensation?

Evelyn Jones: The details will be processed by our claim review team. To move forward, please send us your pay slips for the last three months.

Mr. Anuman: Okay, I’ll ask my boss to get them for me. Also, are there any other supporting documents I need to submit?

Evelyn Jones: Sure. Have you received your work capacity certificate? It is an important document—it states how long you’ll be off work, and our team uses it to work out your payment details.

Mr. Anuman: I’m afraid I don’t have it right now. Can my regular GP issue this for me?

Evelyn Jones: Yes, your GP is familiar with the WorkCover claim system and they should be able to help with that.

Mr. Anuman: Great, I’ll schedule an appointment with my GP soon.

Evelyn Jones: Perfect. Once you have the pay slips and the certificate, please forward them to us. Our claim review team will then finalise the details of your payment.

Mr. Anuman: Understood. Thank you for your assistance, Evelyn.

Evelyn Jones: You’re welcome. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. Have a good day.
